Tinkle, Drizzle, Swoosh, Drop
It's Nature Calling You Out On a Great Adventure Quest!

The Spark:
Whether the weather be rainy, snowy, windy, or a little bit of everything, the natural world during the month of March is always calling on you to join in on the adventure outdoors.  What adventure, you may ask?  It  may seem like nothing is going on outdoors during the month of March, but hold on, look closer and you will be amazed!  Nature is always trying to show you something or tell you what is going on.  It's up to you to find out why.  So, follow nature's clues as it takes you on a great outdoor adventure during the month of March.  For this quest you should bring a camera to document what you find and then you can take your outdoor adventure home with you to continue puzzle over what you have found (or think you have found!)

Calling all Super Natural Superheroes to ACTIVATE!  Are you interested in following the call of nature and embarking on an adventurous nature quest no matter what the weather?  If so, dress appropriately (rainy: rain gear, snowy: snow gear, windy: wind gear, whatever that may be?)  As always, start your quest by asking the question WHY?

Start Your Quest:
Why:  To embark on an adventurous nature quest during the month of march.
What:  To discover what is going on in nearby nature by investigating findings to discover what is happening and why.
Who:  You, your family, and friends.
Where:  In a nearby patch of nature.
When:  Any time during the month of March.
How:  Find out below.  It's a S.N.CH., or is it?

Take Action:

The mysterious pointing tree:
Have you ever seen fallen trees just lying there on the ground?  It may seem like they are leading you to some wonderful discovery.  Find out if this is true by following fallen logs or trees.

Follow mysterious tracks in the snow to see where they lead:
If you spot some mysterious tracks in the snow that lead off of the main trail, follow them.  See where it will lead you.  Be very careful when you do this and watch your step.

What happened?
Have you ever spotted something that is suspect?  Something where the questions, who did this or what happened here come to mind?  Try to find out or guess what is going on.  Can you conjure up an explanation for what you see on the tree below?

Find a home in nature and guess who lives there:
See if you can spot a forest home.  You may even be lucky enough to see who might live there.  Try and guess.  Look at the size of the home.  How big the front door is and how the critter inside would live.  What is their home made of?

Look Up!

Look Down!

Look Around!

Find wildlife clues:
Look for clues that wildlife lives and is present in the forest.

Write a mystery story:
Find clues of human presence in the forest and write a "who was here" mystery story about it.

What is growing here?
Did you ever notice tiny moss-like plants growing on trees, rocks, or on the ground?

Don't Stop Here:
Keep on visiting and researching a nearby patch of nature in your neighbourhood during the month of March to see what you will find.  Add your own adventures to this list and don't forget, if you have a hunch about something just drop us an email and we'll give your hunch a whirl and get right back to you.
